I needed a way to move my jointer from its present location at one end of my shop to the other end so it would be closer to the table saw. I also wanted a way to move it out when I need it and then move it back into a corner when not in use (I don’t use it all that much).
I had this HTC mobile base that I bought for my table saw years ago – I don’t have the saw anymore – so I wanted to use the mobile base for the jointer. the problem was that although the base would adjust to the width of the jointer it was too short lengthwise.
I lengthened it by adding a piece of plywood to each side an simply bolting the plywood in place. It took just a few minutes to do and I was able to easily move the jointer where I wanted.
